About the CDL School Insurance program
CDL School Insurance is a specialty insurance program built for CDL and truck-driving schools: private schools, carrier-sponsored in-house programs, and community college CDL programs. We place commercial auto, liability, and workers' comp coverage sized to how a training operation actually runs: range and road hours, student-to-instructor ratios, ELDT and Training Provider Registry compliance, and the coverage gaps a generalist trucking policy tends to leave open.
The program is led by Dan Wentz, a licensed insurance producer in AL, with USI Insurance Services, out of Birmingham, Alabama. Every submission is reviewed and handled by a licensed producer, not a call center.
We're also part of a nationwide transportation insurance team that places coverage for transportation companies and educational institutions across the country. A CDL school is both at once: a training fleet operating like a transportation company, and a training program operating like a school. We work the submission to the full field of programs and markets that write this class.
